Fourth Grade

Wafa Elhady biography:

My name is Mrs. Wafa Elhady. I will be your child’s 4th-grade teacher. I have been teaching for five years. I spent my first yeas as a paraprofessional in the reading specialist department of a charter school. Then i spent the next two years teaching first grade at the same school. Shortly after my daughter was born, I moved to long term substituting for third, fourth, and sixth grade at a dearborn public schools and private schools. I am very excited to be at Dreamy this year !

This year your child will be expected to be more independent than before. Homework is expected to be completed regularly and neatly. I hope that students and parents use the homework ask a reinforcement tool at home.  Students often perform at a higher level when homework is completed at home with the support and interest of their family.

All students are expected to follow the same classroom procedures and should come to school prepared every day.  That means double checking homework, sharpening pencils, discussing classwork, studying and practicing strategies and skills taught during the day.

I have noticed that the students here are very respectful and observant of the rules.  There may be times when a student does not perform his/her best.  I will notify you when this happens.  I may leave notes with your child or call home. Should this happen, please just speak with your child about doing their best daily and what they SHOULD do.

You may also contact me with any concerns. I ask that you please do not walk in the classroom to handle any concerns.  Please call the school and leave a message with the front desk, write a note or send an email.  I will contact you as soon as possible!  Your expectations and concerns are very important to me. I will send another letter home with more details regarding your child’s fourth grade experience.

I hope to help your child grow a great deal this year!
